Bringing Careers into Focus (Cindy Black)

Career Readiness gives students the relevance they need to succeed in school. Cindy will share the things they are doing at her school that you can take back to your campus and try with your students. Her school started doing brown bag career lunches virtually, which allows them to bring in partners and also provide job connections. Cindy will share how those were rolled those, who to partner with and pros/cons. She will touch on resources and tools that they use in counseling curriculum such as Naviance, Career Pathways website, CollegeBoard, YouScience and Workforce Solutions. They also have some classes and programming at her school that supports career readiness including certification, MAPS, dual credit and internships. Hopefully, there are some tools that can support you in your work with students. Cindy will also happily answer any
questions you may ask.
